Students get stubby coolers as graduation gift

A Queensland high school is causing a bit of a stir.

Kirwan State High School in Townsville is handing out stubby coolers to its Year 12 school-leavers as a graduation present.

Concerned parents say it is sending the wrong message to kids about drinking.

The beer holders, featuring the school's emblem and motto, were handed out at their end of year formal as a parting gift the day before the teenagers start Schoolies.
