Political correctness has stamped out Benny Hill.

Britain's Royal Mail has rejected a proposal to have the risque entertainer on a new stamp.

Benny Hill was one of a number of performers put forward for a set of stamps to mark the 50th anniversary of broadcaster ITV.

And even though his show ran on the network for 20 years, Royal Mail has decided his antics contravene company policy on harassment in the workplace.

Kenny Everett and Miss Piggy were also rejected.
