A high alert is in place along much of the Queensland coastline as Cyclone Ului bears down on Australia.
Australia media say the storm has doubled its speed as it sweeps towards the coast and the Bureau of Meteorology expects it to re-intensify as it takes on a more westerly direction.
Forecasters on Friday morning predicted the high category three cyclone will reach land early Sunday.
Emergency services in northern and central Queensland are working to ensure they are ready for the cyclone.
More 250 people have already been evacuated from Heron Island.
Meanwhile, NZAID says no casualties or injuries have been reported by any of the Solomon Island provinces, which were hit this week by the cyclone.
It says Ului is likely to have caused flooding, crop losses and some building damage.
