A BBC television presenter who hit a teenage boy in the face with a large wooden pole has been jailed for two years.
Ashley Blake, who worked on the Midlands Today programme, had been convicted of unlawful wounding last month, the Press Association reported.
Birmingham Crown Court heard that Blake swung a patio umbrella pole above his head hitting 17-year-old Greg Jones in the face at The Place 2B pub in Sutton Coldfield which Blake then owned.
The teenager, who had been attending an 18th birthday party at the venue, suffered facial injuries to his lip and chin.
Blake, 40, was also found guilty of intending to pervert the course of justice after he threw the pole into a neighbouring garden centre to try to conceal it from police.
