Australian men and boys will be asked on Wednesday to swear they will never commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
A raft of high profile men have already joined the My Oath campaign, which calls for positive action to end the abuse.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, comedian Rove, country music singer Keith Urban, TV host David Koch and former Idol winner Shannon Noll have all pledged their support for the White Ribbon Day initiative.
"Today we are challenging all men to swear, and let's face it swearing comes naturally to most Aussie men," White Ribbon Chairman Andrew O'Keefe said.
"We swear when we're laughing, we swear when we're mad, we swear whether we're elated or deflated. But this is an opportunity to swear to make a difference."
One in three Australian women will be a victim of physical or sexual violence in her lifetime, but White Ribbon is working to engage men to create a positive change, the organisation said in a statement.
People can show their support for the campaign by wearing a white ribbon or wristband on Wednesday, the UN Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
