The New Zealand Navy ship Canterbury has arrived in tsunami stricken Samoa with more relief supplies.

The ship docked on Friday morning in Apia with nine containers of food, clothing and water donated by the Samoan community in New Zealand.

Also on board are electrical supplies and more than 700 wooden poles to help rebuild the hundreds of ruined fale.

The Canterbury leaves Samoa on Saturday for Tonga where it will offload more aid.
