A Chicago insurance accused of secretly videotaping television sports reporter Erin Andrews while she was naked in hotel rooms has agreed to plead guilty to interstate stalking, according to court papers.

Michael David Barrett is expected to formally plead guilty to the charge when he appears in federal court in Los Angeles next week.

Barrett had faced up to five years in prison if convicted, but as a result of his plea agreement he will likely face a sentence of no more than two and one-half years behind bars, said Thom Mrozek, a spokesman for US prosecutors.

Andrews is a reporter for US cable sports network ESPN, which is owned by the Walt Disney Co.

Barrett had been accused of secretly shooting videos of her through peepholes at hotels in Nashville, Tennessee, Columbus, Ohio, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
