A fourth boy will be questioned in connection with the shooting of two youths at close range in northwest London, police said.
The 16-year-old was arrested on Wednesday after voluntarily attending a London police station.
He was the fourth arrest in connection with the attack outside a McDonald's in Neasden, last weekend.
Three other boys aged 14 and 15 have been held after a 19 and 18-year-old were shot by a group of youths, some of them on bikes.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said there was "no clear picture" yet for the reasons behind the attack, though robbery was one line of enquiry. Media reports have said the attackers demanded the victims' iPods and mobile phones.
Police said that the victims had been approached by possibly five youths. One suspect had produced a gun and fired shots at the victims at close range.
The victims were treated at two separate London hospitals and are in a serious but stable condition.
