A professional fisherman has been attacked by a crocodile in the
Northern Territory.
"At 12.05pm (CST) police received a report via UHF radio that a man
had been attacked by a crocodile off the Cobourg Peninsular near
Black Point," a police spokeswoman said in a statement.
It is believed the 45-year-old man was collecting trepang, better
known as sea cucumbers, in waters about 200 kilometres northeast of
Darwin, in Arnhem Land, when the two- to three-metre crocodile
attacked.
The man has been flown to Royal Darwin Hospital, where he is being
assessed by medical staff.
He had non-life threatening injuries to his head and shoulders,
police said.
