"Cat poo coffee" craze hits New York

A new coffee beverage that's made out of the droppings of a cat-like creature is making waves in New York.

Kopi Luwak, or "cat poo coffee" as it is commonly called, is made from beans collected from the droppings of a cat-like mammal called a civet, the NY Daily News reported.

At $30 a cup though, it's one of New York's most expensive, as well as strangest beverages.

The concoction originated in Indonesia and apparently has an earthy flavour.
