A treasure trove hunter in Britain, who spent 20 years finding only old horseshoes and bits of pottery, is in for a windfall.

In April, he uncovered the biggest hoard of Roman coins ever found.

They were buried in a field in Somerset, in south-western England.

Now, the hospital chef is in line for a payout of hundreds of thousands of dollars, after his find was legally ruled to be "treasure".

Inside were 52,000 bronze coins dating from the 3 AD.
