Bainimarama to address UN in NY

Commodore Frank Bainimarama is off to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly.

Fiji's controversial leader will talk about his government's position on general elections and the current progress that's being made towards democracy.

Fiji-Live.com reports Bainimarama will also outline the timelines that have been set through the Strategic Framework for Change.

As Minister for Finance, Bainimarama is also expected to attend the 2009 annual meetings of the Istanbul Boards of Governors for the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund next month in Turkey.
