Australians are worried they could be forced off beachfront land under new national guidelines being considered for coastal development.

The Federal Government is considering the move as a response to rising sea levels caused by climate change.

Federal MP Mal Washer says they are already seeing problems around the country.

The government's been conducting an inquiry into Australia's coastal zone.
