Attorney-Generals from Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and New Zealand are meeting in England.
It's the first such meeting of attorneys-general from the five countries and at the top of the agenda is how to best tackle international organised crime and terrorism.
"The meeting represents a unique opportunity for the Australian government to meet and progress matters of mutual interest with our key allies," Australian Attorney General Robert McClelland said in statement before his departure.
The lawmakers will focus on joint efforts to combat international organised crime, including money-laundering and identity theft, "with the aim of exploring ways that cooperation could be enhanced".
McClelland will also meet with each attorney-general for separate bilateral talks.
"This will provide the first opportunity for an Australian government minister to meet the US Attorney-General, Eric Holder, since the Obama administration took office in January 2009," he said.
