Wellington Zoo
In 1906 Wellington Zoo became the first zoo in New Zealand. Over
the years it has truly become part of the fabric of the city, as
generation after generation has passed through its gates to visit
and learn all about our wonderful animals.
Our strong commitment towards animal welfare and the environment is
at the heart of everything we do.
Our aim is to offer a wild day out packed with learning and fun.
With around 500 animals of all shapes and sizes to check out, we're
sure our visitors leave with a sense of wonder and respect for the
beauty of nature.
