About the Show
Weather - love it one day, loath it the next. It can be our license to get out and have fun, but it can also bring devastation and grief. For a small country, New Zealand has some of the most fickle and diverse weather on earth and as a result, the weather has become a bit of a national obsession.
In Wicked Weather filmmakers and presenter Gus Roxburgh takes viewers on a guided trip of New Zealand's extreme weather. From the science of what makes the weather happen, to the sociology of how if affects the daily lives of ordinary Kiwis, Wicked Weather is an investigation of everyone's favourite small talk subject.
Divided into three episodes, the series looks at both the good and bad side of many of our weather events. From winds that lash the capital, but in turn have created the most efficient wind farms in the world; to the hot summer days that are magic for holiday makers but hell for farmers; to the snows skiers love but motorists loath.
Join Gus as he meets a vast array of fascinating Kiwis who live, work and play in our exciting and unpredictable environment and learn what makes New Zealand's weather truly wicked weather!
