    Strengthening northerlies cover the region. A slow moving trough over the North Island becomes active overnight. Meanwhile another active trough approaches the area from the south on Sunday. Both troughs clear the region on Monday followed by southerlies.

    Friday: Northerly 10 knots, rising to 20 knots this evening. Sea becoming moderate this evening. Fair visibility in patchy drizzle developing this evening.

    Saturday: Northerly 20 knots, rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots in the morning and to 30 knots gusting 40 knots late afternoon. Sea becoming rough in the morning. Fair visibility in occasional rain or drizzle.


    Outlook until midnight Tuesday: Sunday: Changing southwest 15 knots in the afternoon. Rain easing to showers. Monday: Rising to southerly 20 knots. Fine spells, late showers. Tuesday: Tending southwest and rising to 25 knots. Mainly fine.
