    A low over the Tasman Sea approaches the upper North Island today while a northwest flow covers the South Island. The low moves across the North Island on Sunday, followed by strong or gale westerlies over the country. The flow turns southwest over the South Island on Monday, then eases Wednesday.

    Strong wind advisory.

    Saturday: Northwest 10 knots rising to 15 knots this afternoon, and to 20 knots gusting 30 knots this evening. Slight sea becoming moderate this evening. Fine weather.

    Sunday: Becoming northwest 25 knots in the morning, changing southwest 25 knots gusting 35 knots for a time in the afternoon. Moderate sea becoming rough in the morning. Fine weather.

    Outlook until midnight Wednesday: Monday: Northwest 25 knots, changing southwest 30 knots in the evening with showers developing. Tuesday: Southwest 30 knots and showers, easing at night. Wednesday: Southwest dying out and northwest 15 knots developing. Becoming fine.
