Volunteer Power

Julia Bloore

Television has been an integral part of Julia's life for the last seven years; from presenting a children's programme for TV3's Sticky TV; co-hosting TVNZ 6's In beTWEEN and now co-presenting Volunteer Power with Jim Mora.

Volunteer Power is a show after Julia's own heart - she is passionate and inspired about the power of people - Volunteer Power is just that; Kiwi communities coming together for a common goal. TVNZ 6 along with TrustPower is providing the opportunity for the nation to be inspired by these caring Kiwis and who knows, maybe it will start a trend.

Volunteer Power will see Julia travelling around the country and meeting these volunteers, seeing what they do, getting involved and spreading their word about their visionary award winning project. They deserve to be heard.

Julia grew up in a family where other people were always considered very important - so you could say that volunteering is in her blood.  Her mother would always be making meals for some family going through a tough time; Julia's family would always sponsor at least one child; her father worked  for non-profit organizations for a many years - in her own words 'volunteering makes communities work'.

Bringing communities together and working with such energetic and supportive people is the icing on the cake for Julia and sharing these stories with the country is something that she is proud to be a part of.

Life is all about people and Volunteer Power reflects that.
