1) "Don't Even Talk about Leaving"by Dating Godot
New Zealand songwriting genius, Andrew Spittle, is so country it hurts. He just doesn't know it yet. (John)

2) "Hickory Wind" by Gram Parsons (from Byrds Sweetheart of the Rodeo)
or "She" by Gram Parsons (from GP)(Rick and John)

3 ) "Stars go Blue" by Ryan Adams
I fell in and out of love about 100 times listening to this song. Some people have implied to me that Ryan's not very "cool" anymore. Whatever. The Broke (John)

4) "Time has told me" by Kelly Willis - (from "What I Deserve" - 1999)
Heartfelt remake of Nick Drake song by Lyle Lovetts ex. (Rick)

5) "I Just Told Mama Goodbye" by Hank Williams
Very short, coming in at around 1:30min, and very sad as the title suggests. Not entirely sure why I like it. I played the song solo once at the Kings Arms and it was "One Of Those Moments", you know. Not sure if the punters could feel it, but then again, there was only five of them (including the sound guy). (Ben)

6) "Don't it make you want to go home" by Joe South
Joe South was introduced to me by Rick actually. He was kind of a flash harry session man, who did sessions for Aretha Franklin and Bob Dylan, among others. He stepped out of the shadows in the late 60's and brought the world a new genre "Country Soul". Sweet As. (John)

7) "Holding Things Together" by Merle Haggard
Like all the best country music, everyone can relate to this tale of a failing relationship.(Rick)

8) "Nightlife" by Willie Nelson
Willie was living the rock'n'roll lifestyle in the 60s and here he tells us all about it " The nightlife ain't no good life, but it's my life"(Rick)

9) "See the sky about to Rain" by Neil Young (from On the Beach 1974)
Beautiful pedal steel .On the Beach was finally released for the first time on CD last year. (Rick)

10) Anything sung by George Jones
George, to my ears, is THE voice of country music and definitely deserves the mantle "the king of broken hearts"(John)
