Internet Safety
It's quick, easy and fairly safe. That's how most of us
see the internet. More than half of all homes in New Zealand have a
computer and many of us use it to hook into the world wide web and
take care of our banking and shopping. But who's taking care of us?
Well, no-one and that's why the internet safety group has launched
a nation-wide campaign to tell us what we need to do to survive in
the big wide world of the web. The
NetSafe
campaign offers some simple tips
on protecting the information that, in the wrong hands, can ruin
your life. Bryan Seymour with information that virtually all of us
need to know.
Silly Days
With the election and politics dominating news headlines over
recent months, it's quite possible you missed some seriously
significant dates. For example international Talk Like a Pirate Day
may have passed you by, you may have accidentally missed Mother
In-Law Day, Scare a Friend Day or perhaps Synergy Week
International. Frankly it doesn't matter what day, week or month of
the year it is, there's always some weird and wonderful observance
that seems to be attached to the date. In New Zealand we tend to be
relatively restrained about such celebrations but not so in the
United States. John Sellwood investigates with the help of Jon
Gadsby, Jim Hopkins, Pete Lewellyn and Robin Judkins.
