TV ADVERTISING

Please click on the following link for further TV advertising information http://www.tvnzdirectsales.co.nz

tvnz.co.nz is an online, interactive community for lovers of television, entertainment and information.

The site was first launched in March 2004, replacing the very popular nzoom.com and was designed to extend and enhance two of New Zealand's leading free-to-air broadcast channels, TV ONE and TV2.

The primary drivers of traffic on nzoom.com, being ONE News and ONE Sport, were retained and expanded.  Comprehensive sections were established for TV ONE and TV2 to encompass all aspects of television information, entertainment and interactive opportunities.

The tvnz.co.nz user profile is broad, given it provides a rich combination of the  TV ONE and TV2 offering.  In terms of mass audience, the homepage creates an excellent advertising platform to effectively reach a real cross section of the New Zealand public.  The four main site sections of One News, One Sport, TV ONE and TV2 provide more specific environments for advertisers wanting to reach different gender and demographic targets.

The tvnz.co.nz URL enjoys maximum marketplace exposure and is considered to be one of the most visible URLs in New Zealand.  The URL is widely promoted across a range of TV ONE and TV2 programming and, effectively, is communicated to 70% of the free-to-air NZ viewing audience.

tvnz.co.nz is in a unique position in the New Zealand marketplace with the site being able to offer stand-alone, on-line advertising solutions or integrated television/on-line media packages.  Increasingly advertisers are seeking heightened engagement with the consumer and tvnz.co.nz is focused on creating dynamic opportunities within an interactive environment.  One recent example of 'activating and extending the user relationship' was a game developed around the TV ONE coverage of the Rugby World Cup.  The game was hugely success and advertisers within the relevant sections received significantly higher responses than the industry average.

All forms of advertising are available on tvnz.co.nz including premium advertising units such as 'the floating layer' and 'the audio-visual skyscraper'.

TELETEXT ADVERTISING

The immediacy, flexibility, coverage and on demand nature of TELETEXT, make it an important ingredient for direct marketing with or without support of other media. TELETEXT pages can be used to list product details, special offers, contact details and a range of other information suited to the direct response market.

TELETEXT can be used as a highly cost-effective support for television advertising. Advertisers can list a TELETEXT page on a television commercial, providing further details about products or services. Advertising banners attached to the high-profile editorial pages provide an excellent way to target specific audiences and lead viewers directly to the advertiser's message.

TELETEXT also offers Closed Captions (subtitles), which benefit Deaf and Hearing Impaired viewers. It is estimated that more than 10% of the population suffer from some form of hearing loss, and TELETEXT Captions are a vital link to these TV viewing.
