Sam's discontent
As revealed at the end of last episode, Sam is seriously
considering leaving the programme, saying it just isn't his scene.
This naturally sends the crew into a tizzy.
"I was really concerned, and thought that we'd cast the wrong guy," says director Katie Wolfe.
The actors are warned to tread carefully. The script called for Mick the Prick (who repeatedly clash with Sam) to be re-instated into the game, back the crew are now considering altering this development so Sam doesn't leave.
The bondage game
Sam's concern that it isn't his scene will be further tested by the
upcoming challenge that will have the contestants dressing up in
bondage gear.
Pairs of contestants are chained together. They must then search through whipped cream while dressed in bondage gear to find keys to free their partner.
"He was not to keen on the bondage gear at all," says Sarah Thomson, who plays Tiffany the Rich Bitch.
"He was devastated, but then he came around," says executive producer Julie Christie.
When asked if he is gonna stay or go, Sam says he'll stay for another day at least.
Before the challenge begins, Mark (who is dressed in the nuttiest bondage gear of all) announces that Mick was evicted unlawfully, and that he is back in the game. Mick strides back in dressed in really gross bondage gear. Sam hisses disapprovingly.
Sam and Tiffany go first, and execute the task very efficiently. No one is able to beat them, so they win. It is hoped that his challenge win will boost Sam's enjoyment of the whole thing, ensuring he stays.
A new alliance?
In the pool following the challenge, Sam reluctantly takes part in
an exercise initiated by Betty where he has to say something nice
about Mick. Betty is very game however, and says numerous nice
things about Mick&
Sam comments that Mick is an amazing singer&
The next morning, Betty comes down in the morning with a giant smile on her face. Mick comes down and sits very close to her, then states that he and Betty "sowed (their) wild oats".
Mary the virgin is confused, so Mick clears things up for her.
"I shagged her rotten," he says. Mary is "shocked" - "But
they're not even getting married."
House quiz
The immunity challenge involves a quiz about the house the
contestants are living in. Mick loses out first. Betty eventually
wins the immunity. She confides in Sam that she is in love with
Mick (!), and begs him to not vote him off.
But Sam is adamant that he is gonna vote for Mick - this makes Betty very emotional, and she almost cries.
Sam the schemer
Ben informs Sam that Betty Mick and Mary are voting for Sam, which
would spell the end of Sam as Betty (who has the immunity cloak)
decides any even splits.
Sam and Ben approach Mary to try and win her vote. She is hesitant, but then disappears and comes back saying Mark helped to decide to vote for Mick.
Elimination ceremony
After the votes are cast, Mark informs the room that
before they are counted they have a surprise. The person with
immunity (Betty) is offered a onetime $10,000 payment to leave the
game. She accepts!
This of course makes the votes redundant, and Betty is out of the game. But Betty must give her immunity robe to another player - she picks Mick.
Addressing the group before she leaves, Betty says she has found herself through Mick, that she is filled with love for him and that he makes her feel like a complete woman. She says she doesn't know how she's gonna get through the next few days. Mark offers her the commemorative plate as a souvenir - she doesn't want it.
Mark reveals that the votes (which now mean nothing) were split three/three. Sam concludes in interview that someone must have gotten to Mary and changed her vote.
