Annie Whittle is well-known throughout New Zealand as an award-winning singer, actress, and television presenter.
Her presenting roles include 'Heartland', 'Living Earth', 'Holiday', and 'Then Again'. Her acting credits include 'The Billy T James Show', the 1970s satirical show 'A Week of It', and the lead in the feature film 'Trial Run'.
Annie's theatre credits include several plays with the Court Theatre in Christchurch and a lead role in Chicago with the Mercury Theatre.
She has enjoyed a highly successful singing career, performing solo and with various bands, and has won the New Zealand Recording Industry Award for Top Female Recording Artist twice (1976 & 1977).
Other awards include the Feltex Award for Best Actress (1978), the NEBOA award for Entertainer of the Year (1979) and the Kensington Award for Best Television Actor (1980).
Annie has many other interests, including ballet, fencing, skiing, and flying, and she holds her private pilot's licence.
Originally from Christchurch, Annie has called Auckland's Waitakere ranges home for nearly 20 years. Walking is another passion and Annie can regularly be spotted on one of the many bush-walking tracks of the Waitakeres with her husband, her son, or her beloved dogs.
