TVNZ commissioned programmes and productions concentrate on getting the best New Zealand produced programmes on TV ONE and TV2, and TVNZ welcomes new programme ideas.
TVNZ provides a broad range of locally produced programmes that reflect and foster New Zealand's identity and culture, and these are closely aligned to the Charter. For more information on the Charter, click here .
TVNZ commissions programmes in accordance with our Code of Practice for Independent Commissioning that describes the fundamentals of our commissioning practice. To view a copy of the Code of Practice, click here .
Programme ideas are usually pitched to TVNZ by production companies through a written proposal sent by post or courier to TVNZ. If you are an individual and would like to submit a programme idea we recommend that you to contact a production company first for assistance with submitting a proposal to TVNZ.
Your proposal should be accompanied by a Proposal and Assessment Submission Form to enable us to evaluate your proposal and have all the information we require. To view a copy of a Proposal and Assessment Submission Form, click here .
All programme ideas submitted to TVNZ are assessed against TVNZ's commissioning criteria and programming objectives. If your programme idea is accepted for commissioning we will then negotiate a production contract with you.
