Selections will be posted here in April 2009.
The Television New Zealand Community Support Foundation has given national charities and non-government organisations more than $30 million in free advertising time on TVNZ's channels over a period of more than 20 years.
This free air time is used by charities and NGOs to educate the public, promote their services and drive fundraising activities. It helps these organisations to improve the lives of all New Zealanders.
As New Zealand's public broadcaster TVNZ reaches almost every New Zealander every week of the year. As such, the company takes it corporate social responsibility seriously and is committed to assisting other New Zealanders in their work in the wider community.
The TVNZ CSF programme looks for charities and NGOs that through their work demonstrate who we are as a nation and how and where we live as a people.
The TVNZ CSF partners with four charities or NGOs for a period of at least two years to help them maximise their marketing efforts and engage with audiences. The sponsorship involves TVNZ committing up to $50,000 a month in free air time to each recipient for them to show their television advertisements. For the period until June 2009, the TVNZ CSF recipients are the National Heart Foundation, the SPCA, the Refugee Service and Surf Lifesaving New Zealand.
New Zealanders have a tradition of helping each other out. These moments bind us as a people, strengthen our communities and contribute to our sense of national identity.
