Young inventors win patents

New Zealand teenagers with a knack for inventing are winning patents for ideas they came up with for a youth TV show.

The Patents Office says of the 24 inventions dreamed up for the show, close to half could be officially registered.

A hot rod that makes coffee is among three inventions created by teens to get patents as part of the TV2 show Let's Get Inventing.
