Former Australian captain Kathryn Harby-Williams has shelved retirement plans in favour of playing another season for Auckland Diamonds in the 2006 National Bank Cup.

The 36-year-old initially indicated she was retiring at the end of last season and was left out of earlier squads named by the Diamonds. But Harby-Williams was on Monday added to the Diamonds finalised team list for 2006.

The inclusion of Harby-Williams gives the Diamonds a formidable looking defensive end with the Auckland-based franchise also securing Silver Fern Anna Scarlett in the off-season.

Scarlett will team up with her former Rebel team-mate Stephanie Bond and New Zealand A team member Rachel Rasmussen.

The 2006 National Bank Cup competition will get under way on April 29.
