Flight of the Conchords' stars Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement have been sending balls into the air at a charity tennis match.

It's not the usual type of tennis however. In true comedic style, the two participated in New Zealand's first giant tennis tournament.

On holiday in their homeland, the two have been busy training for the charity event.

"We've been out most days, but we've only had normal tennis size racquets, so we used ping pong balls, we've been drinking giant eggs," says McKenzie.

The pair's hit television show, about two wannabe musicians trying to make it big in America, has a cult following.

The duo have also won a number of awards for their show, most recently a Grammy.
