Three Indian men missing from a group of Catholic pilgrims have come forward claiming they are victims of a human trafficking scam.
The men say they had no idea they were booked to attend World Youth Day in Sydney.
They claim they paid an agent $17,000, believing that was the proper way to get into New Zealand.
The trio met immigration officials on Thursday afternoon to discuss their status.
Another 36 Indians are still missing and are also believed to be seeking a new life in New Zealand.
