Road Transport Forum bosses and Transport Minister Annette King are expected to meet to discuss road user charges on Monday.
The meeting follows the recent nationwide protests by truck drivers after a sudden increase in road user charges.
The chief executive of the Road Transport National Body, Tony Friedlander says it is important the industry's concerns are properly addressed.
He wants further clarification of the terms of reference for a working party which will look at the whole issue.
Friedlander says road operators want a new formula developed to avoid difficulties encountered in past years.
