The Olympic-bound New Zealand under-23 men's football team has beaten Chile in its second match in Porirua.
At Porirua Park on Saturday, a first-half header from Daniel Ellensohn gave the Oly-Whites a confidence boosting and historic 1-0 win over Chile to square the two match series.
Ellensohn headed the winner in the 38th minute.
Chile were reduced to nine men late in a tetchy second half, but
NZ coach Stu Jacobs said it was probably a fair result.
The win is the first for a New Zealand side over Chile.
The Oly-Whites depart next week for a five-match Olympic build-up tour of Australia and Indonesia on its way to Beijing.
