Former world number one Lindsay Davenport has pulled out of the French Open starting because of personal reasons, organisers said on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old American, who returned to the court last September after an 11-month absence to have a baby, lies 26th in the WTA rankings. She was a French Open semi-finalist in 1998.

Two other American players, Meilen Tu and Meghann Shaughnessy, have also pulled out of the claycourt grand slam, because of injury worries.

World number six Andy Roddick, who pulled out on Tuesday because of a shoulder injury, will be replaced in the men's draw by Argentine Guillermo Coria, a losing finalist in Paris in 2004, organisers added.
