The cost of groceries pushed food prices up again in April.
Food prices increased 0.3% in April mainly due to higher prices for the grocery food subgroup, up 1.2%.
The main contributors to the increase were yoghurt, up 8.8%, eggs up 7.6%, potato crisps increased by 4.6% and various sauces up 5%.
Chocolate and cheese both fell in price, down 1.5% and 13.4 % respectively.
The April rise means grocery prices have risen 10.7% in the past year.
When all categories of food are included the rise for the year is 6%.
