A man who was on the run for a day after an Armed Offenders Squad callout has been arrested in the Dunedin suburb of Brighton.
The squad was called in on Saturday night after a bail check at the man's home in Mosgiel. He allegedly threatened two police officers with a chainsaw, then attacked their patrol car.
The officers were not injured.
Police expect to lay charges against the man.
