With the clock ticking for Eden Park to be ready in time for the Rugby World Cup in 2011, organisers have been stepping up their efforts to keep the public on side.
This weekend they opened up the park to rugby fans, giving them a behind the scenes nosey.
The groundsman might be horrified but this was the public's chance to step on the hallowed turf before its $240 million upgrade.
The new south stand is the centrepiece of the redevelopment while a new east stand will replace the chilly eastern terraces.
Transport and surrounding areas will also be upgraded.
