The Green Party joined Auckland protesters on the steps of Aotea Square on Saturday in a bid to pressure the government to withdraw the Terrorism Suppression Amendment and calling for those arrested in this week's nationwide raids to be released on bail.
MP Keith Locke says the police need to back off.
He says members of various issues groups and community groups involved in peaceful protests have all turned out.
Locke says the Greens will be continuing to protest their plight until those held in custody are released.
