Ministers head off in all directions

A two week parliamentary recess is seeing a host of government ministers leave on overseas trips.

Phil Goff left Sunday for a two week South American trade mission, while Trevor Mallard is in New York for a UN meeting on climate change.

Maori Affairs Minister, Parekura Horomia is in NSW at the end of the week to launch a research report on Maori in Australia.

Finance Minister Michael Cullen is meeting counterparts in Asia and Europe, while Lianne Dalziel and Peter Dunne are in Japan and Canada respectively.

And Jim Anderton will stand in as acting Prime Minister, when Helen Clark leaves at the end of the week for a European visit.
