A new study suggests calcium supplements could increase the chance of heart attacks in older women.

The study claims that while the supplements are good for bones, they could increase the chance of a heart attack by up to 50%.

Tens of thousands of people in New Zealand take calcium supplements and worldwide millions of people are taking the supplements.

It is recommended that anyone with concerns over the supplements talk to their doctors or moderate their intake.
