Multiple Oscar-winner Weta Digital will be key to Tourism New Zealand's new campaign to promote the country to overseas tourists.
Animated images of Maui hauling the North Island from the sea have been devised by creative artists to re-launch the 100% New Zealand campaign.
Tourism New Zealand CEO George Hickton says traditionally the country has been promoted through TV commercials and the print media.
He says the focus now will be on the internet, mobile phones, social networking sites, blogs, podcasts and other emerging technologies.
