Tues Oct 25: After School Tuition; North Korea- Part 2; Tank; Lotto

School Days - Part 2
It's a $25 million business. Countless parents spending the money and sending their children to after school tuition centres like the Kip McGraths . There's nothing new in private tutors helping kids brush up their reading, writing and arithmetic but these privately run tuition centres are popping up everywhere. They cater for thousands of children every week, children as young as six years old. Are parents panicking? Are they paying too much? Is it an indictment of our current overloaded school system? Close Up investigates the growing trend of after school tuition centres in Part 2 of our School Days series.

Secretive Nation - Part 2
North Korea is a place vilified by much of the world. It makes no secret of its huge stock of ballistic missiles, massive army and nuclear arsenal. Still North Korea is trying to develop friendly relations with the outside world, including New Zealand. In part two of Charlotte Glennie's story she uncovers more about New Zealand's links with the much demonised nation.

Gas Guzzler
At a time when fuel prices are making the big gas guzzlers less appealing, the idea of trading down to a smaller vehicle has become quite appealing. Not for Evan Birchfield from Ross on the South Island's West Coast. He's just taken delivery of the ultimate in gas guzzlers, a Chieftain Tank which does less than half a kilometre on a litre. John Sellwood visits a man who believes when it comes to driving...nothing beats big.

Feeling Lucky?
It's billed as a world first 'Big Wednesday' the new lottery for Kiwis. It offers punters the "ultimate lifestyle". Luxury vehicles, overseas travel, boats and holiday homes and a potential thirty million dollar first prize jackpot. Sound too good to be true? What are the odds of you winning the big one? We check out your chances.
