Breakfast came to you on Thursday from the Nelson Yacht Club - the oldest yacht club in the country, celebrating its 150th birthday this year.
Nelson Mayor Paul Matheson has been in the job for nine years. He spoke to Breakfast about the many changes he has seen during his time running the city.
Aquaculture is the fastest growing food producing industry in the country and worth over $300 million to New Zealand's economy. And much of it is based in the Nelson region. Its production includes mussels, salmon and oysters - much of which was on the Breakfast BBQ on Thursday morning. The BBQ was organised by Mike Burrell, chief executive of Aquaculture New Zealand.

Ross Richards fell in love with pottery nearly 35 years ago while
at teachers college and decided to become a potter rather than a
teacher. He told Breakfast how it's done.
Local jeweller Halfdan Hansen, whose team were the original
designers, editors and creators of the One Ring that featured in
the Lord of the Rings trilogy, popped in for a chat.
Some unusual events have happened on breakfast over the past 10
years. In the very early days Matt Ruys proposed to his girlfriend
Anathea live on the show.
