Obesity Surgery
Last night on Close Up we heard from doctors who argue that surgery is the only answer for the extremely morbidly obese, that their metabolism means diet and exercise won't work. We got quite a bit of feedback on the issue including a response from National MP Maurice Williamson. He emailed to say: "If some people can't lose weight no matter what...how come there were no fat people in the Nazi concentration camps."  To discuss that are Maurice Williamson MP, bariatric surgeon Dr Robert Fris and one of the patients who he says proves the surgery theory, John Barnes.

Composting Nappies
If you've ever disposed of a disposable nappy and felt a little guilty and not so green, then you're going to love this story. It's about turning nappies and their contents into compost for the garden.  And incredibly it's a process that takes just a few weeks and could be commercially available within the year. And what's even more amazing is that it's a world first right out of Rangiora, North Canterbury. Jendy Harper meets the mother of two with a green dream.

Wonder Chef
Sofia Wenborn meets award-winning chef Tetsuya Wakuda who is appearing the Auckland Food Show   this weekend.
