Secretive Nation
Most North Koreans are allowed no contact with the outside
world...visitors are ordered to leave their cellphones at the
airport on arrival. It's notoriously hard to obtain permission to
get inside North Korea but Asia Correspondent Charlotte Glennie was
granted a rare visit. She's the first New Zealand television
journalist to have succeeded in officially filming there.
School Days
Exam season is nearly upon us. Never mind that
NCEA
brought us much more internal assessment, important end of
year examinations are still a reality for most year 12 and 13
students. That means cramming, late nights and high stress. To try
to ease the burden Connie Buchanan took a group of students from
Sacred Heart Girls' College in Hamilton to meet with
Karen Boyes
, a study expert, to
get tips on how to prepare for exams.
Motorcycle Diaries
They called it the last hurrah, two old blokes on the
adventure of a lifetime, riding through Asia on classic motorbikes
only a little bit younger than the riders themselves. Des Molloy is
55 and Dick Huurdeman 72. Fifteen thousand kilometres, twenty
countries and three months of travel are now all behind them, and
they're back with a few tales of endurance and suffering from the
dusty trail. Mike Jaspers catches up with two self confessed
motorbike nuts in Dick's garage.
