The owner of a vicious dog which attacked two men, biting one on the penis, has been jailed for seven months.

The Brisbane District Court on Tuesday was told Anthony Scott Huttley, then 21, was hospitalised with four deep cuts to his penis after Shaun Anthony Bell, 40, deliberately ordered Leeroy, his bulldog mastiff-cross, to "get him".

Huttley, who was also mauled on other parts of his body, eventually recovered from the incident but only after the "extreme discomfort" of wearing a catheter, undergoing minor surgery and taking a course of antibiotics.

Bell pleaded guilty to two counts of wounding, one count of wilful damage and one count of threatening violence.

He was jailed for three years over the unprovoked attack in March, 2005, which also left 21-year-old Steven Fredrick Dufty with scars after Leeroy bit him on the thigh and hand.

However, Bell will serve only seven months in prison after Justice Hugh Botting set his parole release date for August.

The court was told Dufty and Huttley had driven to a park in Sunnybank Hills, in Brisbane's south, to share a few drinks to celebrate Dufty's new apprenticeship.

They were talking in the car when an intoxicated Bell rode past on his bicycle.

The court was told he dismounted and approached the driver's side of the car, threatening to douse the pair with brake fluid and set them alight.

He then poured it through the window, splashing both young men.

Huttley jumped out of the car, and later told police he heard Bell command Leeroy to "get him" before he was attacked and bitten several times.

Bell knocked him to the ground and punched and kicked him repeatedly as the dog continued to attack.

Bell then ordered Leeroy to attack Dufty when he went to his friend's aid.

Both men managed to climb back in the car and drove the short distance home, still bleeding profusely, before being taken to hospital.

Later that evening Bell travelled to his ex-wife's house and ordered Leeroy to attack their young Rottweiler.

He also threatened his ex-wife's new partner, and damaged his car.

Police arrested him later that evening.
