Nevin relieved of duties

The Knights have relieved manager Paul Nevin of his first team duties.

Knights Director of Football Barry Simmonds will take over the role for the interim and has already begun work with the players ahead of Sunday's clash against the Central Coast Mariners at North Harbour Stadium.

NZ Knights Chairman Anthony Lee says it was a difficult decision for the board to make and although Nevin is a talented manager the team's performances this season need to be taken into account.

The latest loss to Sydney leaves the club fixed at the bottom of the A-league table.

Lee emphasizes the club believes Nevin has a bright future in the game and will look to keep him , working in other coaching and development areas.
