Gift of Sight
Imagine not being able to see, resigning yourself to blindness for the rest of of your life, then suddenly you are told there is a very simple operation that will restore your sight and it quickly becomes a reality. We share in the joy of that experience thanks to a very special charity. The good work, setup by the late Fred Hollows to give cataract operations in far flung and often desperately poor places, continues.  Reporter Gill Higgins joined a trip to the remote island of Makira in the Solomon's where New Zealand surgeons have been training locals to restore not only the sight but the lives of their people.

Winston's Wonderland
They say in politics a week is a long time, but still Winston Peters is not saying anything, so is his body language, his behaviour doing the talking for him?

Fat Dogs

The SPCA do fantastic work rescuing and rehousing abandoned or mistreated animals but to get them into a new home they have to be good condition.  Bert and Ernie are a couple of fox terriers who rather than being mistreated have instead been given a bit too much love over the years. SPCA chief executive Bob Kerridge explains.

Trade Me
It never ceases to amaze us how generous you, our viewers, can be when a story touches you. Once again you have come through for a family in need. We bought you a story about how Trade Me users were ripped off earlier this month. Sadly there is still no sign of the thief, but police do have a border alert out for him. And we can tell you about a happy ending for one family.
