It's now a movie franchise and with a second film New Moon due out soon, it's time to reflect on what made the original Twilight so great.

With the release of the Twilight movie, Catherine Hardwicke holds the record for the biggest movie opening for a female director and the Twilight movie is the all-time highest grossing movie for Hoyts in New Zealand.

The Twilight DVD is scheduled to release on 22 April 2009.
