It's a swinging director's door on Twilight and its sequels.
After it was announced Catherine Hardwicke was off the sequel New Moon because of the speedy turn around and she decided she needed more prep time, director Chris Weitz got given the gig for New Moon.
However, there's been a flurry of activity over the weekend while you've been hiding away from the rain.
Let's get to it bit by bit first up, Madonna's apparently going to be howling at the "New Moon."
The internet's been besieged with rumours la Madge is about to offer up some songs for the next installment in Bella and Edward's life - you know, the one which had casting issues over Jacob, lost its director and has had rumours of Vanessa Hudgens being involved - as well as Dakota Fanning .
A source's told Entertainment Weekly that because she's close to someone involved in the production, she may have her arm twisted to provide some music for the soundtrack.
New Moon's supposed to be out on November 20, 2009 in the USA.
That's not all that's rocking the vampire world.
It's been revealed in Deadline Hollywood Daily that Eclipse, the third part of the Twilight saga's been given a release date of June 30, 2010.
So Twihards, Summit Entertainment's pushing for that date for Eclipse - which would be just a little over 7 months since the last release New Moon.
Entertainment Weekly's also reporting that news as well as a slightly spoilery peek at the plot - click here for the details
While that's great news for fans of the franchise (although there's such a thing as too much of a good thing), it threw up the question immediately of whether that would mean Weitz would be looking to leave the franchise.
And sure enough, EW says that's unlikely to happen.
Basically it appears to come down to just not enough hours in the day for Weitz to be involved it seems massively impossible that the man would be able to split himself between post production on New Moon and shooting on Eclipse.
So, the gig's open for someone else to step in and direct the next stage of Bella and Edward's affair...we'll bring you word on who's in the frame as soon as we hear.
In the meantime though, the DVD's out in New Zealand soon and of course there's the production diary from Catherine Hardwicke's exploits on the first Twilight to look at - click here for more on that.
Tell us what you think on our meesage board about all the weekend developments....

I am a Twilight Addict for sure! I am Team Jakeward all the way, lol. I reckon Eclipse should be the best version of all for movies... but the books kick butt much more! But if you've read the books, I don't think it matters at all whether this one will live up to expectations, cause the stories have already captured our hearts!

Well what can I say, I am a total Twilight addict! I love the two films so far- but love the books a whole lot more! They NEED to make Breaking Dawn into 2 films. There are just sooo many amazing parts to it that so many [important] things will end up getting missed out! It is kinda essential that it's made into two films! Please, make two films!

I ahve to say that Jacob is who I would go with because of his looks but he hasn't got the personality that Edward has. If I were Bella and Jacob had the personality of Edward you would have the best guy in the world!!
