Protest groups angry about Monday's anti-terror raids held a march in Christchurch on Tuesday.
They believe the raids were an attempt to discredit anti-government critics and label them as terrorists.
One Christchurch protester whose house was targeted says her group has no connection with paramilitary organisations up north.
Frances Mountier of the Save Happy Valley Coalition says the police are trying to target a whole lot of activist organisations.
"Obviously the state is scared by all these activist groups and are using this excuse and the reference to the terrorism legislation in order to go into a whole lot of homes and arrest a whole lot of people."
Police say they never intended to search the house but were looking for a person subsequently found elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Wellington supporters of four people arrested in Monday's raids have been meeting to discuss the situation.
Two men and two women will appear in court again on Wednesday.
One of the raids occurred at a well known activist house in Abel Smith Street.
Supporters gathered in the house on Tuesday night saying they wanted to discuss a constructive response to the raids.
